We made my sister suffer with one of those for a little while in high school. It was an awful car who’s only redeeming feature was the glorious turquoise color.  I didn’t think they could really get much worse, but the person who put a vinyl top on one found a way.

I recently saw an LS430 with vinyl roof. This is probably worse from a cost/value/logic perspective but I think the Lexus was at least as offensive looking

Man, if you’re going to add a vinyl roof, you’ve got to go with white walls, too. Why do people keep ignoring the white walls? I’m not even asking for full-on vogues and 84s here.

The LS430 certainly doesn’t look great with a vinyl roof, either.

I think what hurts the Pontiac more though is that GM was trying to give Pontiac a more “aggressive” appearance compared to the rest of the GM brands. The vinyl roof really doesn’t work with that idea.

It’s not like white walls never appeared on this generation Grand Am, either.  I’m not sure how much it would help the look, but I doubt it would hurt the look...

D ealers don’t care. GM specifically designed the final generation Deville to discourage the installation of vinyl or carriage roofs, but Cadillac dealers did it anyway.

That Teal was the best thing on many 90s GM products. I new a girl with a Sunbird in that color. It also had a dashboard covered in Zebra Duck tape. It was a horrible car, be the Zebra dash always made me laugh.
